After leaving the Cecil LT Foulds went on to the Command & Staff Course at U.S.Naval War College, Newport, RI. (8/61-6/62), and then as Commanding Officerof the USS DeSoto County, LST 1171. His next assignment (shore) was as Head, Missile Branch Special Projects Office, Fleet Ballistic Missile Program, Washington D.C. This was Dads final Navy assignment. He retired in July 1967 after twenty years accumulated service and early promotion to Commander.
